Who are we? Well we are the local Cornish Motorcycle
group of the IAM, a charity organisation promoting Advanced
Motorcycle riding. Our aim is to promote safer motorcycling thought
the use of Advanced training (See Skill
for Life page).
We hold regular monthly social events and rides.
Social events could be just a meet at a local inn for a chat or
ride somewhere, or a hall with a guest speaker. Monthly rides are
open to members when they have passed their Advanced test, or when
their Observer thinks their riding is up to the required standard.
This ensures that you can be confident that the people you
are out riding with will be competent and safe riders also out
to enjoy themselves with fellow experienced riders. We also arrange
longer trips away, Scotland, Ireland and on the Continent a few
times each year.
Membership to the group, Cornwall
Advanced Motorcyclists (CAM) is
just £15.00 a year after you have qualified. Until that time
you need to join the
Skills
for life program at just £139.00 with covers Associate
membership to the IAM,
a book on advanced riding techniques, test fee when your ready
and the 1st years membership to the IAM. Once you are signed
up you will be allocated an Observer who will help you to become
an Advanced, Safety conscious rider and you'll find you enjoy
your riding more and be more relaxed after long rides.
