CAM supports ladies with their driving skills

Cornwall Advanced Motorists (CAM) is delighted to be supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care with the 2008 Ladies’ Driving Challenge by running the Driving Skills Zone.  Ladies’ will have the opportunity to demonstrate their reversing and parking skills under the watchful eye of CAM observers, all part of the day’s fun and challenge on Sunday 7 September at RAF Portreath.

Diana Smeath, a member of CAM, will this year be taking part in the actual Driving Challenge whilst colleagues run the zone above.  Diana says “I am really excited and looking forward to driving an HGV for the first time.  I have to collect a minimum of £100 sponsorship to take part but I’m sure with the support of friends and family I will achieve this and hopefully lots more.”

For more information on the Marie Curie Ladies Driving Challenge please call Nikki or Lynda on 01872 260 500.  Places are limited, so early registration is recommended to secure your place.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the UK’s largest charities. The charity is best known for its network of Marie Curie Nurses working in the community to provide end-of-life care, totally free for patients in their own homes.  Employing more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, it expects to provide care to around 27,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in its 10 hospices this year and is the largest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS
